Turkey's largest walnut processing factory has been opened!

Turkey's most comprehensive walnut processing factory that gathers all stages of the walnut processing under one roof and totally built with domestic technology and national investment, has been opened.

Turkey's largest and most comprehensive walnut processing factory of Konsept Tarım, was opened on October 9, Friday, in Gördes district of Manisa, with the attendance of Bekir Pakdemirli, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. Our facility will process the harvest of 8 million square meters of walnut orchards planted by us and deliver it to the consumers.

With our facility opened with a ceremony on October 9, Friday with the attendance of Mr. Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, we aim to close the deficit in walnut import and make Gordes one of Turkey's most important walnut producing regions.

Besides Bekir Pandemirli, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Gördes Mayor Muhammet Akyol, Konsept Tarım CEO Alper Apaydın, Manisa Governor Yaşar Karadeniz, Ak Party Manisa Deputy Semra Kaplan Kıvırcık and the leading figures from the political and business world attended the opening ceremony.

Bekir Pakdemirli, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, sharing data about walnut production in Turkey stated in his speech "We have gained significant momentum in walnut production in Turkey. We are currently in the fourth place in walnut production in the world. With the support we give in walnut production and with our rightful policies, we have achieved an increase of 87.5 percent in the last 18 years; 7.1 percent in the last two years. Our walnut production, which was 121 tons in 2002, has reached 250 thousand tons. In Manisa, 5394 tons of walnuts are produced. Konsept Tarım is one of Turkey's largest walnut growers with 7,500 acres planted area just in Manisa. The Konsept Tarım Walnut Processing Factory, that we have opened today, has a capacity of 1 ton of walnut drying and crushing per hour, and it has also invested in renewable energy as well. The Konsept Tarım Walnut Processing Factory has been established in accordance with EU standards in terms of food hygiene, occupational and environmental safety with the help of our Ministry. Sustainable production power with solar energy

Expressing that the factory and R&D center which was established with completely domestic investment and technology, will play an important role in the national agriculture move, Konsept Tarım CEO Alper Apaydın said, “In order to gain strength in international competition, it is necessary to produce not only the production and labor itself, but also knowledge and technology with local resources. Our country imports 65% of the walnuts we consume. We aim to close this gap with our factory and investments and to export our high-quality walnuts abroad, as soon as possible. ''

In the first stage, it will process the harvest from 8 million square meters of walnut orchards planted by Konsept Tarım; and will contribute to Turkey's oversea food export with high-quality domestic production. Konsept R&D center will collaborate with research centers and companies in Turkey and in several universities around the world.

Using national technology in the production of high-quality walnuts, Konsept Tarım Walnut Processing Factory will target European Standards in its production. Apart from the production areas, the factory will also include the Konsept R&D Center and the departments of product development. Thanks to these investments, high quality products with added value from walnut and lavender harvests will be offered to consumers.
